"It saddens me to write this as I have been a customer of Desi's office for many, many years. I've referred my wife , family, and friends. My main reason for this review, is to bring awareness. This is my experience, we (wife and I) have been with Desi for countless years insuring multiple, multiple, cars and two home. Granted, every vehicle carrying full coverage with glass (comprehensive) they call it. Back story, two years ago I purchase a vehicle a new to me 2017 Lexus. I call and ask for the SAME coverage as all our other vehicles. I was given a price and agreed to have it added to my policy. Over the course of the two years, our rates went up. Like most, we stuck with Desi out of loyalty. Well, come three weeks ago, I had my windshield get hit with rocks from a construction truck. I call to get a windshield and am told I don't have coverage. I stated, there must be a mistake! All of our cars have glass coverage I said. A few calls later I end up calling Desi , when I tell him what's going on he sounds shocked as well. Desi says he will call me back one he does some digging and finds out what's going on. Desi does call me back and this is where things go south for our trust in Desi. He says a mistake was made and State Farm didn't apply glass save comprehensive. I see where we put it in but it was never added on State Farm side. To boil it down::: the two years I have owned and driven my car, I never had glass nor comprehensive insurance only liability. This is not just a little mistake, my bank that holds my loan require I have full coverage, which they ask thought I had. So had I had an accident, my bank would be out the loan amount, then going after me, then me legally going after State Farm. See how bad this mistake was.... Desi says, James do you know how much a new window is ? I said no, why would I? He then states, well it might be cheaper for you to buy one. At this point I was getting very upset. I was like, what are you talking about? I have been paying you for two years, no questions asked for the same coverage as all my cars that have full glass and comprehensive insurance. Let's not forget Desi, I was quoted a price with glass and comprehensive insurance, which I have been paying for. Desi says, in order to cover the windshield, you would have to back pay for two years of coverage in order to use the glass coverage or pay for the glass out of pocket. I at that point end our conversation as I was very upset and at work. I was being held at gun point at that moment, pay or pay! So i emailed him instead Expressing my feelings that this was wrong. State farm should cover not only my window but add the coverage for the same amount I'm paying now. Desi , kept trying to say I didn't pay for the coverage so how does I expect to get it. What Desi is missing, I was quoted a price and paid that price. So my question is, who has been benefitting from the extra money I have been paying ??? Desi keeps taking back to hey so do you want me to add glass and comprehensive to your Lexus as of today or what would you like me to do? I told him didn't do anything until I figure out what we are going to do. Because at no point did Desi take accountability, at no point did he even truly apologize, until I got mad, at no point did he say, James we will take care of it! So with his actions, it created a reaction in my household and now we are moving 14 vehicles and two homes. Fyi I run a business, I understand things could be less other places. With that said, if you haven't shopped rates, might be a good time. If you have coverage, I would double check you're getting what you pay for before something bad happens and your stuck like I am.
